PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium which has excellent moisture- proofness, is stable for a long period of time and is highly reliable by providing an optical recording film on one surface of a base body consisting of a transparent high-polymer material and forming a specific metal fluoride film on the recording film. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording film 2 consisting essentially of Te and TeO2 is provided by vapor deposition, etc. on the base body 1 consisting of the transparent high-polymer material such as polymethacrylate or polycarbonate. The stable and hydrophobic metal fluoride film consisting of AlF3, CrF3, TiF6, etc. is formed as a protective film on the film 2 by a vacuum deposition method, coating method, etc. A transparent resin layer 4 may be further provided on the film 3. The optical recording medium having the excellent moisture-proofness, high transparency and high reliability is thus obtd. |
