A washing apparatus comprising a washing tube (10) with a loading opening at one end and a delivery funnel (11) at the other end and with a timed washing process and an automatic unloading cycle, the delivery funnel (11) opening towards a spinning drum (21) which comprises two drum floors (22, 23) which are arranged at a distance from one another and are connected to one another by a drum wall (24) perforated in the manner of a sieve and one of which comprises a filling opening (29) and the other of which is adapted for holding a bearing journal (26) for the pivot mounting of the drum (21), characterized in that the drum (21) is disposed in a housing (25) tiltably mounted on a pivot bearing (30) above the front drum wall (22) with the filling opening (29), in such a way that in a first operative position - with the drum (21) at a standstill or at most slowly rotating - the filling opening (29) rests on the delivery funnel (11) of the washing machine (10) ; in a second operative position, in which the axis of the drum extends horizontally, the drum (21) can be driven at a high rotational speed ; and in a third operative position can be brought into an emptying position with the filling opening (29) orientated downwards, in which the items of washing are released from the drum wall (24) at a loosening speed, and the drum wall comprises a plurality of driving ribs (2 to 5) which are arranged parallel to its axis of rotation and constructed in the form of U-shaped raised portions and which consist of a resilient material at least in the region of the rear portion. |
