PURPOSE:The titled substance useful for examining human immunological competence, etc., activating NAD(P)H oxidase of human neutrophils to yield O2, contained in PBS extract of seed of Aleurites fordii Hemssley of Euphorbiaceae. CONSTITUTION:Ground seed of Aleurites fordii Hemssley of Euphorbiaceae is homogenized with a phosphate buffer solution(PBS) at 7.2pH, stirred, and centrifuged to a supernatant liquid. The supernatant liquid is further purified, NAD(P)H oxidase of human neutrophils is activated, to give active substance PA68 to yield O2. It reduces cytochrome C, and is O2 production inducing substance whose reaction is stopped with SOD. PA68, like FMLP or various lectins, opens epoch-making new fields in research of human immunological functions, and applicable to many fields of examination, diagnosis, remedy, etc., of human immunological competence. |
