PURPOSE:To obviate the formation of a deteriorated copy image and to announce easily trouble by displaying an error when a development sensor in a developing device does not emit the detection signal for the presence of a developer. CONSTITUTION:The input signal from an operating part 37 is supplied to a control device 38 and a control signal is delivered in accordance with the detection signal of a developing device sensor 14 and a hopper motor 57 is driven by a driver 39 to drive a hopper screw 24 in a control system. A motor 41 is driven via a driver 40 by the control signal from a control device 38 and the developing roller of the developing device 3 is driven with respect to the developing device 3. A conveying screw 28, a two-way screw 33, an agitating bar 34 and a developing sleeve which are the developer conveying part of the developing device are moved when the developer is conveyed from the hopper 4 to the developing device 3. The screw 24 is rotated until the sensor 14 detects the developer when the sensor 14 detects the absence of the developer. The error is displayed by an error display device 42 or is announced by generating sound when the generation of the error is judged. |
