PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, to reduce residual potential and repetition fatigue deterioration, and to improve light stability by incorporating a specified hydrazone compd. in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer 4 formed on a conductive substrate 1 contains the hydrazone compd. represented by formula I or II in which R1 is methyl or phenyl; R2, R3 are each alkyl or alkoxy; Ar is an aromatic hydrocarbon or heterocyclic group; X, X' are each H, halogen, alkyl, substd. amino, or the like; and n is 0 or 1. The use of such a hydrazone compd., e.g., for the photoconductor 3 of an electrophotographic sensitive body, or for the charge transfer layer 5 of the function-separated type photosensitive body by using only the superior charge transfer characteristics of said compd. permits the electrophotographic characteristics, such as the physical properties of the film, charge retentivity and sensitivity to be enhanced, residual potential and fatigue deterioration in repeated uses to be reduced, and characteristics of the electrophotographic sensitive body to be stabilized. |
