PURPOSE:To increase the reduction ratio of a speed reduction unit without incurring various interferences, by providing two resilient rings which rotate together with inner and outer casings, respectively, and by providing two rollers in each of the resilient rings so that the rollers roll on the resilient ring while making in press-contact with the ring. CONSTITUTION:A first resilient ring 15 is applied to the inner periphery of a support ring 17 secured to an outer casing 1. Further, a second resilient ring 2 is applied to the inner periphery of a support ring 18 secured to the inner periphery of an inner casing 3. Small rollers 21, 22 are integrally incorporated with the outer periphery of a cylindrical member 19 which is rotatably fitted onto the outer periphery of a second shaft section 10 through the intermediary of a bearing 13. When a shaft section 7 is rotated while the inner casing 3 is made stationary, the small rollers 21, 22 rotate while they make in press- contact with the resilient rings 15, 16, respectively. If the diameter of the resilient rings 15, 16 and the diameter of the small rollers 21, 22 are variously changed, an extremely wide range of speed reduction may be obtained. |
