A control device for an overrun brake is described which ensures that the overrun brake of a trailer functions only when the tractor vehicle is deliberately braked. This is done by way of a hydraulic cylinder (20, 24, 38), controlled by way of one-way valves (27, 28) and electrovalves (29, 30) as a function of the braking condition of the tractor vehicle, which cylinder functions as brake accumulator. <IMAGE>
