A device for measuring the inclination and the azimuth or direction angle of a bore, in particular an earth bore, has a module with an inner and an outer elongated housing. The inner housing can be rotated relative to the stationary outer housing by means of a shaft having an eccentric weight. A cassette with a recording substrate is interchangeably arranged in the inner housing. Furthermore, an inclinometer is located on one side of the cassette and an azimuth-measuring device is located on the opposite side of the cassette in the inner housing. An optical system is provided for each measuring device. The cassette contains a window so that the inclination-angle and azimuth measurements can be recorded on the recording substrate of the cassette. A motor for rotating the inner housing about its longitudinal axis is fastened in the outer housing.
