A traction vehicle (1), which can be operated on rails, for miniature railways is constructed from two two-axled bogies (3) which are coupled to each other by means of a connecting rod (12). Above the bogies (3), upward-projecting pivot pins (25) are attached to the power unit housings (29) and are guided through a slit-like pivot pin bearing (27) provided in the running gear (4). The traction hooks (9) fixed on the bogies (3) and the axles (11) of the driving wheels or running wheels (14) and the articulation devices (15) with the ends of the connecting rods (12) on the bogies (3) lie in a horizontal force plane on which the tensile and impact forces acting on the traction vehicle are distributed. <IMAGE>
