The arrangement is intended to anchor a fixing element in a bore leading into a cavity, such as a cellular brick or boarded cavity partition, by filling the cavity surrounding the element with a setting fixing agent. The element has an internal screwed portion at its forward end, openings (22) for passing the agent at its inner end, means (9) to prevent the agent from reaching the screw thread, and an annular member (6) fitting in the bore. At the inner end, the fixing element is provided with an expandable envelope (7) which, by injection of the agent, fills up and expands balloon-fashion.
