PURPOSE:To prevent a speed change shock by delaying the generation of a lock up release signal by a time set corresponding to a speed change step posi tion if the rotational frequency change condition of an engine output shaft is upward tendency when a shift up signal is generated in the lock up state. CONSTITUTION:The above control device is adapted to intermittently operate a lock up mechanism A provided on a torque converter by controlling lock up electromagnetic means B and operate a geared speed change mechanism C to change speed by controlling speed change electromagnetic means D. In this case, when a shift up signal CP is output from speed change control means E in the lock up state, according to an output of rotational frequency change condition detection means G, if the rotational frequency of an engine output shaft is downward tendency, a lock up release signal Cq' is output in synchronization with outputting of the signal CP, and if it is upward tendency, outputting of the signal Cq' is delayed by lock up release timing adjust means F. The delay time of outputting the signal Cq' is set as a time corresponding to the speed change step position by timer means H. |
