We count the catalytic converter as one of the relatively expensive devices of a motor vehicle. In view of the fact that its purchase cost is fairly high and that in the event of wear in practice only the catalytic converter insert is replaced and the original shell or the body of the catalytic converter is retained, we must endeavour to prolong its service life as far as possible. With the use of the drainage device the inside of the shell of the catalytic converter remains dry after each journey, thereby greatly reducing the internal corrosion. Fitting this simple device into the catalytic converter should not increase the manufacturing costs greatly but contribute to extending the service life of its shell and thus also lead to savings for the consumer.
