In the first stage of a four-stage process for removing sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, flue gases are scrubbed at 120 to 140 DEG C with 60 to 80% sulphuric acid, and in a second stage 10 to 20% sulphuric acid is concentrated by the hot flue gases at 120 to 140 DEG C to 60 to 80%. In a third stage, the sulphur dioxide is removed by 10 to 20% sulphuric acid which contains 1 to 20 g/l of hydrogen peroxide, and in a fourth stage the nitrogen oxides are removed by 30 to 40% nitric acid which likewise contains 1 to 20 g/l of hydrogen peroxide. |
