PURPOSE:To contrive to prevent the lowering of tensile strength of a band by heat-treating both ends of the embossed band made of crystalline thermoplastic resin at the temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of blank resin along its longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:To prevent effectively the occurrence of cracks in an obtained band and to keep the tensile strength required for the band in longitudinal direction, the width W2 of the raw fabric after drawing is caused to be in the range of W1W2>=0.5W1. The stretched blank fabric (a) is slit into a specified width of a band by a slitter 12 and made into a plurality of bands, and then they are advanced to rolls 13, 14. Both endmost bands of the slit bands are separated as trimming loss. They are recovered in separate operating line and reused. Residual bands are embossed by pressing, using a pair of rolls 15, 16 having unevenness on surfaces. By heating both ends of the embossed band to the temperature equal to or higher than its melting point, said both ends materials are restored to unstretched state and lose the directional property of molecular orientation. The notch effect caused by embossing is eliminated, and the lowering of tensile strength in longitudinal direction is prevented. |
