PURPOSE:Glass for lenses for the titled glasses capable of observing blue, green, and red of CRT display device in clear contrast, causing little eye fatigue even by long time observation of display device, consisting of a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:Base glass comprising (a) 20-70% SiO2+B2O3+Al2O3 (SiO2 is 3-70%), (b) 2-45% Li2O+CaO+MgO, (c) 5-35% TiO2+ZrO2+Nb2O5, (d) 0.1-33% Nd2O3, and (e) <=20% Na2O+K2O is blend with a coloring component to give the titled glass (>=1.59 refractive index, >=32 Abbe's number, and <=3.7 specific gravity). One or more of <=6wt% CeO2, <=1wt% CuO, <=3.5wt% MnO2, <=0.15wt% CoO, <=3wt% Fe2O3, <=1.5wt% NiO, <=10wt% Er2O3, and <=10wt% Sm2O3 based on the based glass is used as the coloring component (with the proviso that the lower limit of total amounts is 0.1wt%).
