PURPOSE:To enhance fixing speed and to enlarge the range of fixable temps. by preparing a toner essentially composed of a binder resin and a colorant, and specifying the lower limit and the upper limit of the softening point of this toner. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic toner is prepared by using a toner essentially composed of a colorant and a binder resin, such as polyester, preferably, the one obtained by reacting polycarboxylic acid with etherified phenol, and,preferably, having a glass transition point of 50-80 deg.C, a number average mol.wt. of 2,000-20,000, and an acid value of 10-100, and forming this toner satisfying the following relations: 10<=T2-T1<=60, 110<=T1<170, where the lower limit of the softening point is T1 deg.C, and its upper limit is T2 deg.C. As an electrostatic charge controller used for the toner, an org. salt contg. a metal having a valence of >=2 and the like are enumerable. |
