摘要 Shoes 14, 16 are operable by an expanding mechanism 32, one pair of shoe ends taking support on a fixed abutment 20 and the other pair of shoe ends being supported on an adjustment lock 38 which is movable relative to a back plate 10. For parking braking there is provided a locking lever 48, which is pivotally connected to one brake shoe 14 and an intermediate level 50 which is supported on brake shoe 16 and is pivotable about an axis 68 fixed to the plate 10, the two levers 48, 50 being connected to one another via a transmission support or strut 52. The point of articulation 54 of the locking lever 48, on brake shoe 14 and the point of support 56 of the brake shoe 14 on the abutment 20 coincide or lie close to one another. This applies equally to the point of contact 80 of the intermediate level 50 on its associated brake shoe 16 and the point of support 84 of the brake shoe 16 on the abutment 20. As a result, it is no longer necessary for the parking brake to be adjusted in the event of wear of the friction linings. <IMAGE>
