Microcapsule suspensions for recording materials, such as carbonless pressure sensitive copying papers, consist of microcapsules contg. a lactone dye (I) and a metal ion sequestering agent (II). (II) is incorporated into the capsules or a liq. medium in which the microcapsules are suspended. In the formula (I), a,b,c, and d are each carbon, or one or two of them are nitrogen and the remainder are carbon atoms; and X and Y are benzene, naphthalene, or arom. heterocyclic rings. (I) is pref. chosen from phthalide, azaphthalide, diazaphthalide, and fluoran dyestuffs. (II) is chosen from water-sol. or org. solvent-sol. metal ion sequestering agents. |
