PURPOSE:To facilitate operation for stop and departure of a car on a steep sloping road by setting a speed change region for an auxiliary speed change gear concerning a car velocity and an angle of inclination, and controlling the auxiliary speed change gear according to comparison of the set value with signals from the car velocity and angle of inclination detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A car velocity sensor 410 and a gyrometer sensor 420 for detecting an angle of inclination of a car are disposed in a speed change control device, and a speed change region for an auxiliary speed change gear concerning a car velocity and angle of inclination is set. The auxiliary speed change gear is controlled according to comparison of the set value with signals from the car velocity sensor 410 and the gyrometer sensor 420. Thus, at the time of stopping a car at a steep sloping road, the creep force is set at the maximum, so that at the time of stopping a car on a steep sloping road, the car can be kept from moving backward without stepping on the foot brake and an acceleration pedal to facilitate operation for stop and departure of a car on the steep sloping road. |
