Continuous welding of thermoplastics to metal - sheets (aluminium)

Continuous seams between thermoplastic sheet and metallic foil made by feeding the superimposed sheets beneath a high frequency heater and immediately afterwards between a pair of (serrated) pressure rollers on wheels which may opt. also be the drive nip. Esp. claimed for bonding thermoplastic film (polyethylene) to aluminium foil, combines the speed of high frequency heating with independent control of the nip consolidation to suit various component thicknesses and compositions.
