PURPOSE:To preheat a heat generating resistor within a short time by reducing heat loss, by providing the heat generating resistor for printing and a preheating heat generating resistor for preheating said resistor to predetermined temp. in the same base side. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating resistor 12 for printing and a heat generating resistor 13 for preheating are formed onto a ceramic base 11 by depositing the same material to said ceramic base in a predetermined pattern in the same process by using a film forming means such as a vapor deposition means. In this structure of a thermal head, the heat generating resistor 12 for printing and the heat generating resistor 13 for preheating can be parallelly provided in close vicinity to each other. Therefore, the heat conductivity from the heat generating resistor 13 for preheating the heat generating resistor 12 for printing is well, that is, heat is conducted to the heat generating resistor 12 for printing from the heat generating resistor 13 for preheating within a short time in reduced heat loss. Therefore, the consumption of energy required in preheating is also reduced. |
