PURPOSE:To enhance the light fastness of mazenta and black colors and also ink absorption by providing an at least single-layer of ink receptor on the surface of a support consisting of neutral paper, thus forming an ink jet recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A support is to be a neutral paper sized with a neutral sizing agent. Preferably the Stockigt sizing degree of the support should be 10sec or more and/or the extracted pH value of cooling water be within the range of 5.2-10.5. Besides, an at least single layer of ink receptor is provided on the surface of the support consisting of such neutral paper thus forming an ink jet recording medium. The afore-mentioned ink receptor layer is an ink absorbing layer provided on a support consisting of pigment and/or water-soluble resin, etc. Starch oxide, etherified starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, etc. are water-soluble resins used in the ink receptor layer. |
