PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of engine stole and control lag, by a method wherein, when the degree of a decrease in the number of revolutions of an engine is higher than a given discriminating value, a control valve is fully opened to feed a maximum auxiliary quantity of auxiliary air to an engine. CONSTITUTION:In steps 51 and 52, a discriminating value DELTAMeSA, by means of which the number Ne of revolutions of an engine is discriminated, and a given period TSA are set. In a step 55, when it is discriminated in a step 54 that the degree DELTAMe of reduction in the number of revolutions of an engine is higher than the given discriminating value DELTAMeSA, counting of a program timer TSA is started. An auxiliary air amount control valve is substantially fully opened for a given time to feed a maximum amount of auxiliary air to an engine. This enables prevention of the occurrence of engine stole and a control lag. |
