PURPOSE:To estimate run distance from the lower-limit value of fuel cost and the rest of fuel when fuel consumption calculated according to the run of an automobile is smaller than the lower-limit value, and to improve the reliability of the estimated run distanced by setting the lower-limit value of fuel cost and comparing the lower- limit value with the fuel consumption calculated according to the run of the automobile. CONSTITUTION:The signal obtained by converting the detection output of an automobile speed sensor 1 into an electric signal is amplified 2, integrated by an integrating circuit 3, and inputted as run distance to an arithmetic circuit 4. Further, the flow rate of fuel converted into an electric signal by a fuel flow rate sensor 5 is amplified 6 and the integral value of the integrating circuit 7 is inputted to the arithmetic circuit 4 as the fuel consumption. Further, the rest of fuel in the automobile tank is A/D- converted to input an electric signal to the arithmetic circuit 4. This arithmetic circuit 4 uses the signal from the sensor 1 for run distance to calculate the fuel cost from the fuel consumption obtained from the sensor 5. Then, the arithmetic circuit 4 compares the fuel cost with the upper-limit and lower-limit values stored in a memory 9 to estimate the run distance from proper fuel cost and the rest of fuel from the sensor 8 and display it on a display device 10. |
