Cable for a remote control system, characterised in that it is composed of a flexible multi-strand cable 10, housed in a sheath 12, made from a flat or round wire, wound into adjoining coils, the assembly being positioned in a rigid tube 14, so that the flexible cable 10 cannot move with respect to the said sheath, so that during translational movements, the sheath transmits compressive forces and the flexible cable tensile forces, the said tube ensuring the guidance of the movements of the cable 10-sheath 12 assembly. <IMAGE>
