PURPOSE:To improve the lateral balance of swinging steering operation of front wheels, by inclining cylinders in a longitudinally laid front engine in one side direction, and by offsetting the output shaft of the engine toward the opposite side of the inclined cylinders. CONSTITUTION:Cylinders 12 in an engine 10 are formed being inclined by an angle of theta in the direction of a front wheel 6 on the left side of a vehicle body, and the crank shaft 11 of the engine 1 is laid being offsetted from the center line C in the widthwise direction of the vehicle body toward the right side of the vehicle body. Further, a crank casing 13 is mounted on a frame 2. Further, the crank shaft 11 is laid above a steering gear box 20. Furthermore, the input shaft 17 of a transmission unit is arranged being offsetted from the vehicle center line C toward the right side of the vehicle, and a propelling shaft 15 connecting the input shaft 17 of the transmission unit with the crank shaft is laid on the right side of a steering post 21. With this arrangement the overall height of the engine may be made lower so that a bonnet may be set at a low level. |
