PURPOSE:To realize a mechanically firm state of bonding by using low m.p. glass as an adhesive both in the stage of putting a soft magnetic metallic thin film between substrates and in the stage of forming a magnetic gap. CONSTITUTION:A soft magnetic metallic thin film 2 and an oxide thin film 3 are formed on a nonmagnetic substrate 1, and a low m.p. glass thin film is coated thereon to form a core base material 5. A base material 5' of the same structure is prepared, and the thin film 2 is put between both base materials. The low m.p. glass is melted at a specified temp. to bond both materials. Beside, when a magnetic gap 9 is formed, low m.p. glass is used as a gap spacer material for bonding. A mechanically stronger state of bonding can be obtained as compared with the conventional adhesive by using low m.p. glass in this way, and the durability of the head can be remarkably improved. |
