PURPOSE:To prevent flow-out of brake liquid from the liquid pressure system at defective side in a brake system having two independent liquid pressure systems, by arranging a change-over valve for interrupting the liquid pressure system at defective side upon fault between master cylinder and proportioning valve. CONSTITUTION:The brake system has first liquid pressure system 1 communicating from tandem master cylinder 3 through anti-lock brake system 8 to the left front wheel brake 4 and from said system 8 through a proportioning valve (P valve) 10 to the right rear wheel brake 7. Similarly, second liquid pressure system 2 communicating to the right front wheel and the left rear wheel brakes 5, 6 is provided. Here, a changeover valve 12 is arranged between the master cylinder 3 and respective P valve 10, 11. The changeover valve 12 is constructed such that the pilot pressure is functioned onto the rear face of the spool 21 of P valve in the liquid pressure system at sound side upon fault of one liquid pressure system thus to block pressure reducing function of P valve. |
