A connecting fitting for connecting furniture bases to furniture side walls consists of a metal angle piece which is composed of spring steel and has a retaining web which points downwards and is resiliently elastic. Provided in this retaining web is a slot which is open at the top, closed at the bottom and is constructed for holding a mating piece which is constructed as a peg with a thickened region at the end. The mating piece is inserted into the end side of a furniture base adjacent to the furniture side wall.
