PURPOSE:To release the adsorption between a slider face and a medium by providing an electrode to a side face of a floating type magnetic head main body in parallel with the running direction of a magnetic recording medium and providing a conductor having a smaller specific resistance than that of a slider to a recess between the sliders to energize the electrodes for heating. CONSTITUTION:Metallic foils 7, 9 having a specific resistance smaller than a specific resistance of sliders 3, 5 are provided respectively to both side faces of the sliders 3, 5 provided with floating faces 3a, 5a of the floating type magnetic head. A current flows between the foils 7 and 9, a temperature distribution is generated in the sliders 3, 5 by a short-circuit electrode 21 provided to a center rail 15 in a slot 1 of a head main body to deform (shown in dotted lines) the floating faces 3a, 5a so as to reduce the contact area between the recording medium and the slider, the temperature of the floating face is increased to absorb moisture and evaporate water contents of the part adsorbed on the medium face, thereby releasing the adsorption. Thus, the damage of the magnetic head and recording medium is prevented to improve the running performance. |
