PURPOSE:To set up a document retainer which is easily opened/closed and effecting neither hindrance against insertion of a document nor interruption of optical passage of a reading unit in its opened state, by rotatably attaching a retainer frame via a shaft to a lever or rocking link pivoted to the main frame and releasing the retainer frame horizontally when the lever moved upward. CONSTITUTION:In closed status of the captioned device with its lever 12 turned to move downward, the lever 12 is energized by a spring 19 to be in contact with a stopper 18 and a retainer frame 15 comes in close contact with the upper face of a document table 1 by its own weight. Then, if the lever 12 is turned clockwise by means of a control lever 17. The pivot end 15a of the retainer frame is lifted as the lever 12 is turned so as to have a stopper 13 installed on the lever 12 brought in contact with the basic portion 15b of the retainer frame 15 in a position shown with imaginary lines, and further turn of the lever 12 causes he retainer frame 15 to turn and move in one body with the lever 12, while being supported by the stopper 13, and to move upward until it is opened in the state of close contact with the lower face of the cabinet 4a of a reading system, and to be held by energizing power of the spring 19. Accordingly, the retainer frame 15 can neither hinder insertion of a document nor interrupt the optical passage of the reading system, when it is released to open. |
