PURPOSE:To enable changeover between automatic and manual paper feed to be achieved in a short time by means of only a simple structure, by arranging a pick roller to touch on/ separate from a paper sheet and to retreat when a stacker goes down owing to the balance of a spring for energizing said pick roller up and down. CONSTITUTION:When the upper surface of stacked paper sheets 11 is lifted to the level of paper feed, a rocker arm 23 is elastically pushed downward by a spring 27 so that a pick roller 14 may touch on the upper surface of paper sheets 11, while the upper limit stroke of a paper sheet feed stand 13 is detected by sensing a deflection angle of the spring 27 by means of a microswitch 32. Then, a stop command is issued to the elevator drive unit of a frame 12 so that the roller 14 may turn to feed out the one sheet on the top of the stacked paper sheets 11 forward a feed roller 3. When the top sheet 11a is caught by the roller 3, the paper sheet feed stand 13 goes down together with descent of the roller 14. Then, the energizing power of the spring 27 is reduced so that the arm 23 may separate from the paper sheets 11 to release the load exerted on the roller 14. Further, when the paper sheet feed stand 13 is lowered for allowing a stacker 17 to go down, the arm 23 comes in contact with a stopper 31 on account of a spring 25, and descent of the frame 12 causes the roller 14 to retreat downward. |
