The invention relates to a panel-type wall element which exhibits a plurality of vertical panel strips or panel boards (2) which run spaced apart in parallel with one another and are connected to one another by transverse strips (3). Recesses (4) running in the longitudinal or vertical direction are arranged on the rear sides of the boards (2) in the region of the side edges, with the result that undercut grooves (5) are formed in each case between two neighbouring boards (2). Nuts (6) which can be displaced in the vertical direction are located in these grooves (5), the threaded part (8) of load-bearing screws or shaped screws (9) engaging in said nuts. By screwing the load-bearing screw (9) tightly in the associated nut (6), the load-bearing screws (9) can be fixedly clamped at any height on the panel boards (2). The load-bearing screws or shaped screws (9) can be designed as clothes hooks or else, in the case of a corresponding configuration, can be used at any height, which can be vertically adjusted in an infinite manner, for supporting brackets, ledges, shelves, etc. The wall element can thus be installed and modified as required at any time and without any special tools. <IMAGE>
