<p>PURPOSE:To attain an assured contact of a terminal by vibrating plural times an IC (identification) card terminal and a head terminal in order to eliminate automatically the soil of an IC card and the terminals of an IC card reader. CONSTITUTION:An IC card 1 is put into a card reader and the data on the card 1 are read via a position sensor 6, a processor 9, etc. In this case, a imperfect contact of a terminal is decided if the read data have a fault. Then the processor 9 revolves a motor 8 to give vibrations to a reading head 4. Thus a head terminal 5 vibrates in a contact state with a card terminal 3 at a fixed level of pressure to delete the soil from the surface pats of both terminals 3 and 5 and an assured contact between both terminals is obtained. Then the data on the card 1 are read again and checked. These operations are repeated by a prescribed number of times until the read data have no fault. Thus the soil of the terminals can be deleted to secure a highly assured contact between the terminals.</p> |
