In an ink-jet recording head which has a substrate provided with an energy source for ink ejection, a cured film of photosensitive resin formed on the substrate for generating an ink channel, and a cover part placed on the cured film for forming the ink channel, a cover layer which makes the light reflection capacity of the substrate essentially uniform is applied between the surface of the substrate and the cured film. In a process for the production of an ink-jet recording head in which a cured film of photosensitive resin is formed, in order to form an ink channel, on a substrate provided with an energy source for ink ejection and a cover part is placed on the cured film in order to form the ink channel, a cover layer is formed on the substrate in order to modify the light reflection capacity of the substrate, after which the cured film is formed from the photosensitive resin.
