Water-soluble pharmaceutical compositions which contain as active principle salts of (-)-cis-1,2-epoxypropylphosphonic acid with amino acids such as arginine, ornithine, lysine, cysteine etc., and which are distinguished by an excess content of amino acid not converted into salt, are described.
