Central-axis rotary piston machine as universal engine and machine for liquid and gaseous media

For improved design of the combustion chamber geometry in a central-axis rotary piston machine and for simple utilisation of the chambers into which a medium subject to the laws of thermodynamics is introduced, the volume of which medium is there modified, a circular inner ring is arranged in a fixed, non-circular outer ring which is closed off both at the top and bottom, which inner ring is coupled to a shaft in the common centre of the device and slides on the inside of the outer ring, forming a seal, two circular segmental shut-off plates, each of which extends through two slots in the casing of the inner ring, sliding on the inside of the outer ring, forming a seal, and thereby forming the abovementioned variable chambers between inner ring and outer ring.
