Method and device for transmitting signal data

A method and devices for contactless transmission of signal data between a photographic lens and a camera are described. In this arrangement, a defined radiation is generated and at least one of its characteristics is varied in accordance with at least one mechanical manipulated variable. The radiation which has been subjected to variation is converted into an electrical signal which is used to display the manipulated variable and/or to control camera functions.
