The object of the invention is to provide an individual field for track diagram tables primarily for use in the area of model railways, which field permits the schematic representation of a track layout, with all functional elements, using a minimum amount of material, in a modular fashion and permitting the easy exchange of individual field components which are not mechanically connected to one another. The object was achieved by means of the following arrangement: the individual field comprises two flat plates, one baseplate and one covering plate, which are connected and held at an appropriate distance by 4 supports, which are arranged so as to each occupy one corner. The baseplate and the covering plate are parallel to one another. Further plates can be arranged parallel to the covering plate in the free space produced in this manner between the two plates, e.g. a perforated plate may be arranged directly above the baseplate to accommodate the connecting legs of the display elements or of the keys and switches. Furthermore, an intermediate plate may be placed beneath the covering plate to accommodate coloured lenses, fibre-optic light guiding sleeves for electric bulbs or labels. The open structure results in effective dissipation of the heat generated by the light bulbs, the amount of material used is small in relation to the interior of the individual field which is available and the shapes of the components are simple, making them cheap to manufacture.
