PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of microbending and to decrease transmission loss by contg. optical fiber cores into plural containing grooves in the outer peripheral part of an aluminum spacer in which an amvar wire is embedded thereby protecting the cores against crushing force. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber cores 3 are contained into the plural contacting grooves 2 in the outer peripheral parts of the aluminum spacer 1 formed integrally with the amvar wire 5 embedded into the central part and are fixed by a packing material 4. The coefft. of the thermal expansion of the spacer 1 and the cores is made the same by selecting the diameter and number of the wire 5, by which the generation of the microbending is eliminated and the transmission loss owing to a temp. change is decreased. Since the cores are fixed in the containing grooves, the cores are protected against crushing force. |
