PURPOSE:To restrain frost from adhering to and glowing on the surface of a fin and elongate a time until a space between fins is blockaded by the frost by a method wherein the fin is formed so that the tip end of the fin at the upstream side of a heat transfer tube with respect to air stream is formed so as to be protruded while the tip end of the fin at the upstream side of a gap between neighboring two heat transfer tubes is formed so as to be recesses with respect to the air stream. CONSTITUTION:The configuration of the tip end 7 of the fin is formed so that the tip end 7a at the upstream side of the heat transfer tube 2 with respect to the direction of the air stream, shown by arrow signs, is protruded while the tip end 7b of the fin at the upstream side of the gap between neighboring two heat transfer tubes 2 is formed so as to be recessed wave form with respect to the direction of the air stream. Accordingly, distances between the tip ends 7 and the heat transfer tubes 2 become equal substantially, therefore, temperatures at the tip ends 7 of the fin become equal substantially. As a result, temperature differences of inflow air between the tip ends 7a, 7b and the tubes become equal substantially. Accordingly, the thicknesses of frost, adhered to and glown on the tip end of the fin becomes uniform when the heat exchanger is placed at the outside of a room and room heating operation is effected and whereby a time until the space between the fins is blockaded by the frost may be elongated. |
