PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a color printer by using one photosensitive body and one optical writing device. CONSTITUTION:Scanning is started by the optical writing device 2 when the front end of a transfer shet fed into an image forming part by resist rollers 12, 12' is detected by a detecting part 14 for the front end of sheet. The writing of the information on a yellow (Y color) image is first executed and the image is developed to the Y color by a Y color developing device 3, by which the Y color image is transferred on the transfer sheet. The sheet is then passed between fixing rollers 10, 10' and is fed into the detecting part 14 by a change- over member 11. The Y color image is formed to each transfer sheet in the above-mentioned manner and the sheets are stacked to the part 14. The transfer sheets are again fed to the image forming part by a feed roller 15. The sheets are thereafter subjected to the image formation of a magenta color and cyan color. The member 11 moves as shown by an alternate long and short dash line upon completion of the transfer of all the colors and the transfer sheets are discharged onto a discharge tray 16. |
