PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material high in image sharpness, prevented from fogging, and superior in raw storage stability by incorporating a compd. reacting with a color developing agent and releasing a development inhibitor, and a specified magenta coupler in a silver halide layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one of blue-, green-, and red-sensitive layers contains a compd. (DIR) reacting with the color developing agent and releasing the development inhibitor, such as a compd. obtained by combining acylacetanilide as a coupler component with benzotriazole as an inhibitor component. The green-sensitive silver halide layer contains a benzotriazole type magenta coupler represented by the formula in which R1 is halogen or a monovalent org. group releasable on the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent, and R2, R3 are each H, alkyl, aryl, heterocyclic, acylamino, or the like. The addition of DIR and the magenta coupler permits the obtained photosensitive material to be high in image sharpness and prevented from fogging. |
