PURPOSE:To prevent misfires and engine stalls due to deterioration of an engine, by providing a detecting means for detecting the capacity of intake-air charge so that an intake-air amount control means is controlled to be compensated to increase the amount of intake-air when the engine is charged with a low volume of intake-air. CONSTITUTION:Upon operation of an engine 1, in a control unit 10, the present operating range of the engine 1 is judged from a map in accordance with outputs from an air flowmeter 3 and a rotational speed sensor 7. Then a boost pressure detected by a boost sensor 6 is compared with a set boost pressure read from the map, and whether the deviation thereof is within an allowable value or not is judged. If it is judged that the deviation is not within the allowable value, it is regarded as such that the capacity of intake-air charge is secularly deteriorated, and therefore, an opening degree compensating value corresponding to the above-mentioned deviation is read from a predetermined map. Then, in accordance with the opening degree compensating value, a final opening degree of a control valve 9 in a bypass passage 8 bypassing a throttle valve 4, after being compensated, is calculated to control the control valve 9. |
