<p>The coupling of the present invention is of the type comprising diametrically opposed claws, formed so as to project from a mating face of the coupling and each one provided with a re-entrant lip equipped with a recess which opens towards this face, and two diametrically opposed lugs which are formed between the two claws on the external surface of the coupling. According to the invention, the method consists in die-forging a mass of semi-molten metal between, on the one hand, a die made of a single piece (24) having a vertical axis (Y) and having the external form to be given to the coupling and, on the other hand, a vertically moving header die (33) having the internal form of the coupling without its parts, in terms of draught, which are formed subsequently, after hardening of the metal, during the machining of the mating face. Furthermore, the recesses of the lips of the claws may be produced during this die-forging by a drawing operation carried out over the entire height of the lips, by virtue of two vertical ribs (35, 36) provided on the header die (33). <IMAGE></p> |
