PURPOSE:To increase descaling efficiency and to reduce cost by leveling a hot-rolled steel sheet at an elongation rate of prescribed percentage and descaling it by a honing of specific percentage before removing the remaining scales by grinding. CONSTITUTION:From the upstream side, a tension leveler 2, a liquid honing device 3 and a scale grinding device 4 are arranged in sequence on the transporting line of a hot-rolled steel sheet 1. The sheet 1 uncoiled from an uncoiler 5 is formed into a continuous steel strip by a wlder 6 and is fed to the leveler 2 to correct its shape at a 1-2% elongation rate. Next, after high-pressure blowing abrasives and liquid against the sheet 1 by the honing device 3 to perform the descaling of 70-90%, the remaining scales are perfectly removed by the device 4 such as a roll grinder. In this way, the descaling is performed highly efficiently at high speed and its cost is reduced. |
