<p>PURPOSE:To detect correctly an advance and a backing ratio even during acceleration and deceleration by providing a clock pulse generating circuit, and measuring the peripheral speed of a roll and the speed of a material with the same time width digitally and simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:The detecting device consisting of rolling rolls 1 and 1, a pulse transmitter 4, a roll 6 for measurement, speed indicators 8 and 9, an arithmetic device 12, etc., is provided with the clock pulse generating circuit 10 which synchronizes the start and end points of pulse integration. When the clock pulse generating circuit 10 outputs signals (k) and (l) commanding the start and end of integration of the speed indicators 8 and 9 at a constant period, the speed indicators 8 and 9 measures the roll peripheral speed and material speed synchronously and an arithmetic device 12 calculates the advance ratio on the basis of speed signals VR and VS sent from the speed indicators 8 and 9, so the value of the advance ratio is detected accurately even during the acceleration and deceleration of a rolling mill.</p> |
