GAS CUTTING METHOD OF RACK TOOTH

PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional accuracy of addendum in a gas cutting method of a rack tooth in which a steel plate is melt-cut to the tooth profile of a rack and a rack tooth material is obtd. by restraining both side edges of the steel plate in the addendum direction of the tooth profile of the rack and subjecting the steel plate to gas cutting. CONSTITUTION:A stationary stopper 16 made into an inverted L shape is direct ly pressed to one long-sized side face of the steel plate 10 to prevent the lateral movement of the steel plate and a restraining block 22 attached to the top end of a screw rod 20 screwed to a stanchion block 18 is pressed to the other side face via said rod. The rod 20 is thereupon moved toward the plate 10 side to restrain the plate 10 between the stopper 16 and the block 22. The rack tooth is cut along the desired melt-cutting line in this state, by which the rack tooth material is obtd.
