[Also in Division F2] In an articulated two-engine elevating scrapper vehicle wherein internal combustion engines (38), (42) respectively mounted on tractor and trailer parts 12, 14 of the vehicle drive wheels 16, 36, an elevator 30 is driven from both engines through a hydrostatic transmission. The engines drive pumps (40, 44) supplying pressure liquid to a motor 46 which drives the elevator 30. An operator controlled valve (50) permits the pressure liquid to by-pass the motor 46 when it is desired to stop the elevator 30. Separate but interconnected reservoirs 56, 58 are provided on the two parts of the vehicles and respectively supply the pumps (44, 40). |
