PURPOSE:To provide a printer small in size and long in ink holding duration in which many kinds of letters and signs can be printed clearly by striking on the platen with selective driving of the hammer in cooperation wiht the position of the recording medium and that of rotation of platen. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a platen 106 causes the first ink roller 109 and the second ink roller 209 to rotate. A black ink impregnated into the roller 109 is transferred to a spiral projection 106a while a red ink impregnated into the second roller 209 to a spiral projection 106c of the platen 106. When driven, a hammer head 25a strikes the projection 106a through a printing paper 33 whereby the black ink is transferred to a cross point on the paper 33. When driven, a hammer head 25b strikes the projection 106 whereby the red ink is transferred. If all printing is to be made in black, striking is controlled so that it is performed as long as the projection is within the coverage of the hammer head 27a while failing to do when the projection 106c is. |
